Successful aerospace component manufacturer is seeking a Product Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team in the process of product design, testing and development.  As the Product Engineering Manager, you will report to a Vice President and will coach, mentor and lead a team of skilled engineers.   Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:  
  • Evaluating customer needs and making any needed adjustments to product lines
  • Mentoring, coaching and leading a group of design engineers overseeing individual projects
  • Lead the technical interface of the product line, which would include design, test and development
  • Oversee individual engineering projects, timelines and budgets, as well as holding staff accountable to project deadlines
  • Communicate with customers on technical product issues
  • Other duties as directed by management
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with internal and external customers to enhance the product line, have excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills and be open to completing their own design projects.  

REQUIREMENTS for the Product Engineering Manager:
1. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, mechanical engineering preferred
2. At least three years of similar product design engineering management experience
3. Experience working in the aerospace industry
4. Experience with product design, including mechanical and/or fluid components and/or systems
5. Experience with customer communication
6. Experience overseeing others
7. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Catia and SolidWorks skills
2. Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
3. MS Project

Candidates are preferred to be local; however there is a relocation package being offered for this position.
