Growing company is seeking a Production Manager to join their management team.  As the Production Manager, you will have indirect and direct reports.  Daily you will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of site operations, including:
  • Managing all functions of operations in a low volume, high mix production environment
  • Coaching, mentoring, developing and leading direct and indirect reports
  • Improving, implementing and maintaining the quality management system
  • Identifying process improvements to decrease scrap, increase efficiencies and save money
  • Working within the company ERP system to evaluate work in progress, bill of materials and routings
  • Collaborating with the scheduler and shop manager to ensure that production deadlines are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintaining and improving standard operating procedures, as well as written work instructions and the training manual
  • Fostering relationships with production staff in order to attain plant goals
  • Developing and monitoring plant KPIs and production objectives
  • Other duties as directed by management 
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 60% of their day.  Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating and leading indirect and direct staff, participating in group projects and improving production initiatives.  The company does offer very competitive benefits, including health, dental, vision, long-term disability, 401K, annual bonus potential, vacation, sick days and paid holidays.

REQUIREMENTS for the Production Manager:
1. A bachelor’s degree, ideally in a related field
2. At least two years of experience in a similar production management role in similar manufacturing environments
3. Experience overseeing a staff focused on production initiatives
4. Experience working with quality management systems
5. Working knowledge of ERP systems
6. Manufacturing experience of parts, components and/or equipment
7. The ability to read blueprints  
8. A strong background making process improvements and finding cost savings
9. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
2. A strong mechanical aptitude and/or assembly experience
3. Experience implementing a quality management system
